BeritaDEKHO - The Syrian government has approved the 2020 budget, estimated at nearly nine billion dollars that means a 3 percent increase over 2019. (more)
SANA news agency reported that the budget was passed on Sunday by the Supreme Council of Economic and Social Planning, headed by Prime Minister Imad Khamis.
Supporting the Armed Forces, maintaining social subsidy and guaranteeing the basic needs of citizens, particularly medicines and food, are the main guidelines of the budget.
A loan was also assigned to guarantee 83,416 state jobs and a sum of almost 100 million dollars for reconstruction work.
As every year, the Syrian State allocates multimillion funding for social welfare, and this budget assigns almost 900 million dollars to guarantee bread flour, petroleum products, food and medicines. (adm)
